This 100% rye whiskey was 2X distilled from heritage rye grown in the Palouse region of Washington state, and aged for just shy of 6 years in virgin 53 gallon No. 3 char American oak casks. This whiskey is Bottled in Bond at 100 Proof. Bright on the nose with hints of rye, coffee, spice bin and grass. Palate opens with sweet rye grain, red berries, vanilla caramels, hints of tart citrus and baking spices. Finish is medium in length, smooth and balanced with a hint of coffee and cooling eucalyptus.

This is our first rye whiskey release and production is very limited.

solid rye

I was very excited to receive this, but I'm not sure the 100% rye mash bill works. While this is obviously a quality whiskey, the flavor profile is a bit one-note. I tried it first neat, then on a rock, and it was ok, but it makes a terrific old fashioned. The addition of a couple dashes of bitters really enhances the taste.
